Delta Announces One Week Sale on Airfares to China!

Written by on July 18, 2017 in Travel Deals

Ni hao! Delta just announced a week-long airfare sale to select cities in China. Fares start as low as $508.

Beijing and Shanghai seem to be the sale’s featured cities. (In fact, they’re the only ones listed on the deal’s homepage.)

A quick sightseeing trip to the Great Wall of China during a day-and-a-half mileage run/mini-vacation to Beijing.

There is a minimum ten (10 day) stay and the sale is for main cabin (coach) seats only. (Unless you use Beijing or Shanghai as a starting point to other destinations, this isn’t exactly mileage run material.)

Travel may begin September 2 – October 1, 2017 but must be completed October 5 – 26, 2017.

Eligible tickets must be:

  • purchased at least 28 days in advance
  • through Delta’s website
  • no later than July 25

The Shanghai options are markedly more expensive than the Beijing flights. West Coast (and West Coast adjacent) airports such as Seattle, Los Angeles, Portland, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City offer the lowest fares.

If you live in not-one-of-those-cities, get to one by cashing in some SkyMiles or even taking a lower-cost carrier such as Southwest.

Keep in mind that a ten day trip to China requires securing a visa before you go. (Factor in the cost and time of doing so.)
